A TRADITION OF SEAFOOD AND North Carolina FLARE
THE BEST VIEW IN TOWN
Life on the river can be appreciated slowly, lively and elegantly with the best view in town at The Pilot House.
Especially at a place bustling with history – one very closely tied to the growth and vibrancy of Wilmington as a port city.
Originally, it was the residence of William Craig, a cooper – maker of wooden barrels – certainly many of which were used to help write the history of our city. In the 19th and early 20th century, naval stores, prepared from the sap of the Long-Leaf Pine, were used to waterproof.
Today, The Pilot House is the place for cherished recipes of the North Carolina coast as you take life in, and let it all roll gently like the river right before you.
SEAFOOD WITH LOCAL FLAIR
Founded in 1978, The Pilot House has become a tradition in Wilmington for seafood with a local flair on the river.
Situated at the southern end of the Riverwalk, with the perfect view of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, this iconic establishment embraces a sense of southern charm while crafting a menu evocative of the North Carolina coast.
Part of The Pilot House’s deep commitment to local industry and a proud sense of place is expressed in the careful preparation of every meal.
The care in craftsmanship at The Pilot House extends to the bar—the only bar on the Riverwalk with full views of the river—where our artisan chefs and mixologists curate an exclusive bar menu of exciting bites, beer, wine, and cocktails that change with the seasons.
For forty years, The Pilot House has been the classic choice for casual, carefree, and yet sophisticated Carolina dining on the river at the most picturesque corner of Wilmington.
